The Deer, the Fox and the Guitar
Classical Guitar. Soft Tone. Sound Design. Free.
FREE
The Deer, the Fox, and the Guitar is a free nylon guitar library for Kontakt Player crafted with a gentle, intimate tone. We set out to capture that soft, expressive sound of fingers on nylon strings, but this little library turned out to be far more versatile than we expected. From delicate cinematic textures and ambient soundscapes to modern scores and expressive fingerstyle, this guitar has a voice for it.
To explore its full range, our guitar sample library includes a collection of snapshots (we recommend trying it!!) that take you all the way from warm, whispered tones to wild sound design territory. Each one opens up a new side of the instrument, so you can find your own path through the forest. Pick up the guitar and play.
Works with many genres
We have selected some demos that we made while testing The Deer, the Fox and the Guitar. But we advice to watch the overview video, it’s short and more informative.
Made For Kontakt Player
This library is licensed for use in the free Kontakt Player. It can be used in Kontakt Player or the full retail version of Kontakt. It requires online registration through the Native Instruments Native Access system. This library is also fully compatible with Komplete Kontrol and all NKS Standard hardware and software by Native Instruments.

One day, our friend Dima Koltsov came up with the idea of creating a classical guitar vst. But we need another one? If we’re going to create something, it should have a problem solution like we did with Dombra saving musicians time. Or it should offer original concept or sound as we did with Runa.
Dima recorded the first samples himself. He had a clear vision for the sound inspired by classic video game soundtracks. And when we heard the recordings, we immediately loved their soft, intimate tone and decided to become co-producers and make this kontakt guitar instrument free. Then we added more articulations and sound design. The Deer, the Fox and the Guitar is mixed to complement ourother instruments, including Groth, Edda, Runa and Dombra.
Alexander Buzhak played the guitar.
The artwork was created by Lalalu.
